Stretching exercises are very important after the surgery to avoid problems with joint movements and to help the muscles get used to the new height.

Exercises

The lengthening process is started approx. 1 week after the surgery and the leg is lengthened by 1 mm daily.

If the leg is not moved much after the operation, the muscles become very tense and the joints can only move to a limited extent.

Therefore, it is necessary to do the exercises daily after the surgery.

Physiotherapy is very helpful during this process.

Exercise during the extension phase

Exercise is highly recommended during the extension phase, but not extreme sports.

Fitness

Fitness is often helpful, but impractical right after surgery. It can damage the stretched and weak bones. The best thing to do is to discuss with your physiotherapist which exercises and sports are best.
